CUSB student offered 4.38 lakh scholarship for LLM in the US

Ashish Ranjan, a final-year student pursuing BA-LLB from the Central University of South Bihar (CUSB), has been offered a scholarship worth $54,000 (approximately Rs 44.38 lakh) to pursue LLM at Pennsylvania State University, United States (US).

The scholarship was awarded to him after he won the 'Best Law Student' award at the 8th Padma Bhushan Prof. N. R. Madhava Menon SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation) Mooting Competition held at Lloyd Law College in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India from February 15-18, 2023.

The competition saw the participation of several teams from Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries, and finally, 50 teams were selected, including Ashish's team from CUSB. Ashish's team made it to the quarter-finals, where he put up an excellent performance in the final round, and was declared the winner.

Expressing his happiness on this achievement, CUSB's vice-chancellor, Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh, said, "We are extremely proud of Ashish's achievement. This is a significant milestone in his academic journey, and we wish him all the best for his future endeavours."

CUSB's Dean of School of Law and Governance, Prof. Sanjay Prakash Srivastava, also congratulated Ashish on this accomplishment. "Ashish's victory is a testament to his hard work and dedication towards his studies. We are confident that he will excel in his future endeavours and make us all proud," he said.
